The Little Food Festival
For two days during the September school holidays, kids will be entertained for free with immersive and engaging demonstrations as part of the Little Food Festival.
The Little Food Festival is a celebration of all the ways young Victorians can address three of our greatest global challenges – climate change, health, and social connection – through the language of food.
Education Futures researcher, Dr Deana Leahy, is partnering with the Sandro Demaio Foundation to present two days of immersive, vibrant explorations of the food we eat, where it comes from and what it means for our health. Using art and playful speculations, the Little Food Festival offers a valuable way of encouraging people, particularly children, to consider complex food topics such as health and sustainability. The event will be grounded in playful education, with short educational sessions delivered by Monash University academics from the faculties of Education and Art, Design & Architecture.
The Little Food Festival is hosted by the Sandro Demaio Foundation, in partnership with Monash University, the Monash University Library, and Federation Square.
